The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Learning & Development Manager to cover a period of maternity leave in our team from February 2023. This will be a 13-month contract which will include a period of handover with the current role holder.

Reporting into Head of HR, you will be responsible for contributing to our learning and development strategy for BakerHicks UK. You will coach, guide and mentor our early careers pathways (apprentices, placements and graduates) and partner with our Senior Management Team to identify learning needs for their teams drawing on your expertise and best practice.

Although this role is advertised as full-time, we are committed to flexibility and would consider part-time applications.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced advisor that is looking to progress and gain experience in a more senior position.

Please note, this role will involve some travel.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training solutions to support and achieve the HR priorities
  • Manage the learning and development budget on a day-to-day basis to ensure effective spend and value for money.
  • Manage our Apprentice Levy contributions and usage to ensure effective spend and value for money
  • Line management and development of an HR Administration (who also supports our Recruitment Manager)
  • Develop and manage our early careers pathways including graduates, summer and year-out placements and apprentices, from day one to programme end and transition
  • Work closely with Discipline Directors and their teams to identify learning needs for teams and individuals, understand organisation-wide themes and seek to close skill gaps
  • In collaboration with the D&I lead develop and deliver an engaging and effective training programme
  • Create and manage internal training programmes as required.
  • Working with the Senior HR Manager and Recruitment manager to deliver joint projects
  • Coach Directors, managers and employees in learning and development best practice
  • Manage mandatory and compliance related training to ensure employees are trained in line with Morgan Sindall Group requirements
  • Build and develop enduring relationships with third party training providers and chartered bodies
  • Drive a culture of continuous professional development, incorporating best practice

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working in a Learning and Development function
  • A broad understanding of multiple areas of Talent, Learning and Development.
  • Proven experience managing Early Careers programs including Levy management 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrable experience consulting and coaching with senior stakeholders
