The Opportunity
With a great landscape in which to establish long-term progression, BakerHicks are looking for a dynamic and hands on professional to assume this position of authority within the business.
Taking ownership and working on the ground with the team, you will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of Physical, Personnel and Information Security for the business and the production of the Security Plans to set the required security standards necessary within contracts that deal with classified information.
You will work closely with our project teams, clients and suppliers to ensure we deliver in accordance with the Government Functional Standard GovS 007: Security.
Additionally, you will assist the business with ensuring compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (Data Protection Act 2018), advising colleagues on their responsibility as data owners and recommending solutions in line with the regulation and best practice where current practices could be improved.

Your expertise
- Substantial experience working with Government / MOD in the security field, including comprehensive experience working with HMG information assets in a secure environment
- Working knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework, Information Assurance Standards and Good Practice Guides
- Previous experience working with DISA (Defence Industry Security Association)
- Strong, effective leadership, mentoring and conflict-resolution skills
- Detailed understanding of HMG personnel vetting processes
- Proven experience in working in public sector security aligned to Government Functional Standard GovS 007: Security (public sector) OR ListX (nuclear environment)
- Experience in driving continuous improvements in business processes and the ability to identify root cause corrective actions
