Description

Baker Hicks provides a managed service for a major Defence Contractors Configuration Management function. Based on the clients’ sites, we provide support to various areas, with a team of approximately 70 people.

The role will provide support to the Client GIS Team through maintenance of the asset configuration baseline information within the corporate GIS System.  This is an opportunity to join a diverse and interesting business, being based on a 'one of a kind' site in the UK, working on unique buildings.

This 3–6-month contract position is full time with the possibility of extending depending on the client needs.


What you will do

Development of 3D baselines, including facilities and utilities, using 3D visualisations to support Estates Strategy and other projects, as well as operating as the subject matter expert in terms of functionality and capability, supporting business areas in process development and system deployment.

  • BIM/GIS Integration projects
  • UAV support and development, including processing and analysing imagery
  • Preparation and support in migrating from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro, including the implementation of the Utility Network and Branch Versioning
  • Maintenance of the asset configuration baseline information within the corporate GIS System
  • Cartographic production and configuration/improvement of Topographic & Utilities baselines

 

Your experience

  • Good working experience in the GIS discipline, preferably within an MoD or utility environment.
  • Remote sensing and spatial analysis.
  • Experience working with Assets Management Systems (AMS), Computer Aided Design (CAD) or Building Information Modelling (BIM)
  • Knowledge of configuration management and change control.
  • Advanced knowledge of desktop GIS software (preferably ESRI ArcGIS) in a working environment
  • Management of utility network data in a versioned geodatabase environment
