Baker Hicks provides a managed service for a major Defence Contractors Configuration Management function. Based on the client's sites, we provide support to Document Management and administration / CAD / BIM / Surveying / Tooling with a team of approximately 70 people.

As part of the growth of the service, we have identified the need for an office trainee.  The role will provide general project administration and document control support to all disciplines and department managers and to assist in the smooth and effective running of the Managed Service.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Support the CAD, BIM, Survey & Document Control teams in day-to-day administration activities, for example scheduling meetings, booking rooms or resources, producing and distribution of meeting minutes, scanning of mark-up prints, loading of drawings into document management system.
  • Printing and plotting of drawings and preparation of drawing packs for issue.
  • Assist with the production and collation of monthly service delivery reports
  • Assist in the collection of & processing of weekly timesheet data to align with client application requirements
  • Answer Phones and take messages for the team members whilst they are away from the office
  • Assist with the preparation of material for training or communication events
  • General office duties
  • Working with the team to continually improve the service, its delivery by means of best practice, new techniques and initiatives to drive improvement and efficiency
  • Provide support to the office manager in the creation of Works Authorisation Documents (WADS)

 

Requirements

  • Good standard of education at GCSE level or above with a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Training will be provided in all aspects of Business Administration
  • Upon completion of the program, you will be awarded a Level 3 certification in Business Administration, which holds the equivalent value of an A Level certification
  • Must be willing to complete security clearance to SC level and potentially up to DV level.
