The BakerHicks rail team have been commissioned to work on a number of projects providing Earthworks Examination services.
This team will work onsite daily, located around Scotland, providing their expertise in Earth Works Examinations in accordance with Network Rail Standard NR/L3/CIV/065, where you will undertake earthworks examinations in line with Network Rail standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out earthwork’s examinations in line with Network Rail standards.
- Prepare, compile, sign and submit a report for each earthworks examination to the Earthworks Examining Engineer or Earthworks Manager, using handheld technology.
- Immediately notify the Earthworks Examining Engineer and/or the Earthworks Manager of defects which give rise to a concern about safety.
- Submitting to the Earthworks Manager via the Earthworks Examining Engineer - Urgent Defect Report where defects which give rise to a concern about safety have been found and/or where urgent action has been taken or is required to maintain safety.
- Support the planning of the examination work-bank to manage risk and compliance in accordance with Network Rail Standards.
Requirements
- Experience in undertaking Earthworks Examinations, or some experience in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology within Railways
- You will be competent against NR/L3/CIV/065 standards
- Minimum competency of PTS, however IWA will be prioritised
- Able to travel for site visits across Scotland
- Driving license and own vehicle.
