About the project

Our Highways team delivers everything from high-profile national projects to local schemes, ranging from new or enhanced roads to renewal of existing infrastructure. We improve road journeys for millions of people every day.

Our projects are built on being a responsible business, protecting people and delivering benefits to the environment and local communities.

Our Work Winning team bid for frameworks and project opportunities across Highways, Aviation, Environment and Defense sectors. Key customers include National Highways and Local Authorities. We also work collaboratively to support other infrastructure opportunities across the wider business.  

The work winning team is fast paced, exciting and a collaborative environment where we track opportunities, engage customers, and develop proposals, programmes, and prices to secure future work for Morgan Sindall.

The role will be based at our Head Office in Rugby. You will also be expected to visit live construction sites and potential future project locations so the ability to travel is a must.

 

What will you be doing?

During your 2 year Graduate Programme, you will work within a friendly, busy and professional team engaging with various work winning roles across all stages of the bid process.

You will help us to win work by, researching and developing compelling written responses, supporting all stages of a typical tender process. This will include a combination of analytical research, answer planning, bid writing, editing, reviewing and proof reading.

 

You will:

Produce professional documentation, to a high standard, with a particular focus on accuracy for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. The role will also include:

  • Actively contributing to various bid meetings
  • Undertaking visits to live construction sites to support data and evidence capture
  • Interviewing operational experts to obtain evidence and information for bids
  • Produce compelling case studies and evidence write ups
  • Working in a busy environment and experience of working to pressured deadlines for multiple submission is key.
  • Experienced in producing and analysing spreadsheets and databases
  • Being creative or displaying journalistic skills when producing reports and documentation to accurately portray and sell the company’s products and services.
  • Being able to focus on collation of documentation and large amounts of information for long periods of time is a requirement.
  • Willingness to learn and develop yourself, either from shadowing others through to completion of further learning is encouraged and supported.

 

What qualifications do I require?

A degree accredited by a chartered body (e.g. ICE, CIOB, RICS) at lower second or above, or a degree in English Language or journalism with an interest in engineering or construction.

Ability to travel or drive to remote site locations if needed

Exposure to a construction/engineering environment is preferable but not essential
