Description

Baker Hicks provides a managed service for a major Defence Contractor’s Configuration Management function. Embedded within their organisation, located on the client's sites, we provide support to CAD / BIM / Surveying / Tooling / Handover & Baseline Data Management with a team of approximately 70 people.

As part of the growth of the service, we have identified the need for a Configuration Manager.  The role will provide a crucial role in supporting the coherent management of key information to provide an accurate baseline for a significant project at our client site. 

This is a fundamental activity to demonstrate that the business has control of key information developed through the lifecycle of this major project in preparation for operational handover.

 

Key Objectives

  • As part of the Project Delivery and Controls Function, you will, manage, monitor, and report on the delivery of Configuration Management across the project.
  • Ensuring Configuration Management processes, requirements and standards are in place to aid delivery.
  • Coordinating and synchronising Supply Chain organisations in their delivery of Configuration Management activities in line with client expectations.
  • Provide document configuration support to the client team to ensure all internal document configuration and storage is managed and maintained.

 

Requirements

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in a construction or engineering discipline (Note that experience and Professional Membership/Registration will be considered in the absence of formal qualifications)
  • Must have experience in delivering configuration Management within various projects
  • Experience working within a secure and/or regulated environment (rail, nuclear, defence etc)
  • Solid experienced in strategic awareness, stakeholder management etc
  • Must be willing and able to obtain security
