We have an exciting opportunity for a Store person within our Energy division

Role Purpose

  • To ensure optimum running of the stores/Yard in support of the MS Energy & Water business and to be responsible for the issue and receipt of Materials, Specialist Plant & Components, Tools, Equipment, Consumables & PPE.
  • Ensuring that stock and plant levels are maintained in line with the business needs and deliver regular, comprehensive reports on stock levels together with early warnings on limited availability of strategic stock.
  • Deliver/Manage the cataloguing of stock held at the project, segregation and grouping of materials and the safe disposal of redundant items.

 

What you’ll be doing

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

 

  • To co-ordinate and manage plant & stock ensuring all administration procedures are followed and ensuring accurate stock management.
  • Regularly review supply alternatives to ensure best value and practice is achieved within our supply chain agreements in line with procurement and delaps processes.
  • Liaise with operational Staff to ensure materials required for site are arranged and accessible in line with operational extended hours working.
  • Unload and load delivery vehicles
  • Check deliveries against advice notes and for quality, quantities, and damage.
  • Ordering and issue of materials, PPE, consumables, etc.
  • Hiring, acceptance and off hiring of plant & equipment (inc Lifting)
  • Security of yard ensuring access is only permitted to authorised personnel
  • Ensuring yard(s) and store is always tidy.

 

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Knowledge of the power industry would be beneficial but not essential
  • Full clean driving licence (HGV is an advantage)
  • Valid Telehandler licence
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • IT Skills – MS Outlook, MSP & MS Word, Excel
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • OHL Authorisations (Will be an advantage) – SHE Persons / SHE Power / SHE Substation

About our Energy business

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
