About the summer placement with Morgan Sindall Infrastructure:

 

The summer placement will give you a valuable insight into the work we do; you’ll be part of the team where you can support our day-to-day operations.  You will have a dedicated line manager who will work with you to ensure you get the best from the placement.

A summer placement is an exciting opportunity to find out what a career in Procurement could entail and to give you hands on working experience in the industry. Some aspects will be:

·       Provide all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner

About the project:

A short-term requirement for a Supply Chain and Procurement Administrator to work in our Rugby Head office to provide a functional support role within the Commercial department.

 

The Procurement department is a vital business function that encompasses a range of activities within the Morgan Sindall organisation. its primary purpose is to obtain goods and services efficiently, source new suppliers, securing competitive prices, dealing with cost management whilst delivering value that safeguards the company’s reputation and prevents costly mistakes.

 

Working in this fast-paced environment you will have the opportunity to support the team responsible for the effective

procurement of subcontract packages and/or materials

 

 

You should have the ability to manage a given list of tasks, work well either alone or as part of a team and know when to ask for help and guidance.

 

This is a support role, you will be expected to support the team closely, completing tasks within company procedures and industry standards.

 

What will you
be doing?

 

 

 

·       Procure materials, goods and services to programme and to the commercial advantage of the company and report as directed.

 

·       Purchase materials to specification

·       Ensure supply to programme

·       Maximise profitability and minimise risk

·       Help achieve Perfect Delivery

·       Maintain existing supply base

·       Ensure compliance of materials and services to specification

·       Utilise standard documentation

·       Adhere to “Delegated Authorities”

·       Comply with group and business unit supply chain

·       Prepare and issue reports as required

·       Proactively develop market and technical awareness

·       Support colleagues in their roles

·       Support purchasing strategy

·       Promote professional behaviour/ethical approach

·       Monitor and feedback on supplier performance

·       Ensure regular communication with suppliers

·       Undertake problem resolution and seek support, where appropriate
