Description

At BakerHicks, our supply chain management professionals ensure the responsible sourcing of products and subconsultant services for client projects during the construction process.
Combining on-site experience with best-practice procurement methods, we’re experts in keeping a project on track through the seamless integration of our clients, design teams and supply chain.

This role will manage the procurement of Services and Equipment on BakerHicks projects which involves supply chain development, procurement strategy, tendering and evaluation, negotiation, contract management and expediting.

The ideal candidate, for this fixed term contract position, will have had previous experience in the procurement of plant and equipment within and Engineering environment and will be a key member of the project delivery team for a range of challenging projects of significant scale and complexity. 

 

Key Objectives

  • To administer the process of procuring services and equipment for the Companies projects
  • To work closely with project teams and customers delivering a service to fully meet their requirements.
  • To support the procurement and supply chain team with the prequalification of existing and new supply chain partners
  • To support the procurement and supply chain team with the assessment of all quotes/commercial terms as well as leading all technical and commercial analysis
  • To present and gain approval of the Tender Recommendations from the Customers in accordance with the Procurement Strategy and Schedule
  • To expedite and support with engineering and construction teams to deliver procured items in accordance with the Project Schedule

 

About You

  • Experience in a procurement role within construction or engineering
  • High level of proficiency in the use of general Microsoft Office software i.e. Word, Excel, etc.
  • Experience of EU and UK supply chains 
  • Full UK driving license
  • Experience of working with construction contractors
  • Experience delivering complex procurement packages
