Who we are looking for:
The role of Senior Operations Manager will assist the Project Teams with project delivery activities on the EDNUP sites. Reporting to the EDNUP Delivery Lead - the Senior Operations Manager will support the site project teams with both delivery, design and productivity, focussing on constructability of design, constructability of the schedule, quality risk planning, design and delivery team integration, etc.
The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible and accountable for:
- Assisting the delivery team with the design and construction phase of the project, in relation to collaborative planning involving the design, quality, delivery and Client team to meet safety, cost, programme and quality objectives.
- Provide construction expertise and input to constructability reviews throughout the design stage ensuring the design, work scope and construction strategies are centred around the proposed outputs.
- Help lead “build in a day” meetings relating to the teams awareness of schedule compliance and understanding of the schedules risk profile.
- Ensuring a proactive and proportionate approach to conventional and nuclear safety through quality and safety during the design stage through to delivery on site.
- Ensure site Construction Teams setting to work and safe systems of work processes are being followed.
- Knowledge of the principles of CDM and its interface between Client, Designer Constructor.
- Be able to assess project risks and support the project team in mitigating/managing the risks by challenging the proposed methodologies for both construction and design.
- Assist the project teams with understanding progress and providing support and mentoring with the development and delivery of Construction Schedules.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, and project team members.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team.
- Responsible for liaising with the Quality team and assisting with technical site reviews of works.
- Liaise with and proactively support the Quality team introduce manufacturers involvement in the projects to promote best practise and delivery high quality standards.
- Support the Learning from Experience process and encourage the project teams to actively participate in this essential activity.
- Coach and motivate the project Engineering team (e.g. Site / Section Engineers) and lead by example. Provide a mentoring role to support their career development.
- Support the Project Team with identification of temporary works requirements and liaise with the Temporary Works Coordinator where required.
- Provide a supporting/mentoring role for Appointed Persons, Temporary Works Engineers and Service Protection Managers.
- Support the delivery team with monitoring supply chain/directly employed operatives and their supervisors, taking a positive approach to safety, health and environmental arrangements to the highest possible standards.
Desirables
- Experience of design management processes and procedures.
- The ability to converse with consultants whilst supporting their information delivery in line with the schedule milestones.
- Project management experience and the ability to interact with delivery teams.
- Worked in an environment which manages information in line with BS EN ISO 19650.
- Experience working on large-scale industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as needed to various project sites and office locations.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and encourage collaborative problem solving.
- Ability to achieve and maintain Security clearance.
