Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Energy business for an ambitious and talented Estimator

Currently focussed on the Energy sector, our business is evolving to ensure that we remain a major player as the UK adapts to climate change and achieves carbon net zero.

About the role

As an Estimator you will principally responsible for managing and preparing tenders from first principles and coordinating and challenging the input from the wider construction team 
including procurement, engineering and commercial, and supporting the bid 
management and quality submission requirements

Further responsibilities include:

  • Managing tender processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Sourcing competitive quotes and identifying market trends.
  • Assessing risks, opportunities, and tender documents.
  • Developing tender strategies and coordinating handover to project teams.
  • Collaborating with the commercial team on estimates and contract negotiations.
  • Mentoring junior staff and fostering client relationships.

About you 

  • Degree educated, preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of the use of first principles estimating
  • A sound working knowledge of project management principles
  • Awareness of current health and safety requirements and changes

About our Energy business

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
