Description

The BakerHicks rail team have been commissioned to work on a number of projects providing Earthworks Examinations across various ELR's across Scotland.

This team will work onsite daily, located around Scotland, providing their expertise in Earth Works Examinations in accordance with Network Rail Standard NR/L3/CIV/065, where they will undertake tasks in line with Network Rail standards.

The Earthworks Examining Engineer (EEE) is responsible for reviewing and approving earthworks examinations that have been carried out in accordance with the most recent version of “Examination of Earthworks Manual: NR/L3/CIV/065”. 

While are flexible on where this person is based, the successful candidate will need to be willing and able to travel to various sites across Scotland. BakerHicks will cover the costs of this travel.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and plan work load for Earthworks Examiners.
  • Compiling and reporting defects raised from earthworks engineers - Urgent Defect Report where defects which give rise to a concern about safety have been found and/or where urgent action has been taken or is required to maintain safety.
  • Reviewing and approving earth work examinations in accordance with Network Rail Standard NR/L3/CIV/065.
  • Conducting 1% Checks by attending site to validate exams.

 

Requirements 

You will ideally have some experience of examination of Network Rail Earthworks

Qualifications:

We are happy to look at anyone with the following level qualification with accompanying level of experience: 

  • Level 7 qualification - some experience relevant to the role
  • Level 6 qualification - significant experience relevant to the role
  • Level 5 qualification - extensive experience relevant to the role
  • Chartered Engineer or Geologist
