What you'll be doing:

A career in planning with Morgan Sindall is a structured professional development of your skills and experience into leading programme management roles on exciting and complex projects and great work winning opportunities. A planning role on a project is both important and central to the successful project delivery strategy and we have developed a clear career path from Assistant Planner through to Senior Planning Manager and ultimately as Head of planning within our most successful Nuclear Business Unit. 

You will work with a team of professionals on a major infrastructure project an ultimately take a leading role in shaping how the project is controlled and delivered.

About Nuclear:

Projects in the Nuclear sector cover a wide variety of scope from upgrading electrical distribution, bridge construction or pumping systems up to the construction of brand new facilities that are of significant national importance.

Working on these key frameworks there is a constant pipeline of projects that will challenge and develop your skills and provide the opportunity to excel and progress in your career.

Shadowing qualified Engineers and Construction personnel to gain an understanding of the role and to be mentored on the job.

What qualifications and desirables are required?

  • A minimum of a 2:2 in a construction planning or engineering related degree. 
  • Eligibility to work and live in the UK at the time of joining. 
  • Strong organisational, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ideally hold a full UK drivers’ licence at the time of joining.
  • Demonstratable communication skills and collaborative working ethos. 

You will need the ability to:

  • Be geographically mobile – our projects and supply chain partners are UK wide and can be in rural and remote locations. You will need to be able to commit to travelling independently to sites and able to stay away from home for short and longer periods.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contributing across a business unit or area.
  • Have a desire to learn with a strong interest in professional growth and personal development.
  • Demonstrate well developed communication skills, explaining your ideas clearly to different audiences, actively listening and ensuring other points of view are heard.
  • Enjoy creative problem solving, seeking opportunities in difficult circumstances, and adapting to change.
  • Sound knowledge of construction practices and standard.
