Based in Birmingham - Stoke on Trent and Bedford, with full East – West coverage.

Reports to:

· Generally - Reporting to Construction Director and Head of Furniture

· Day to Day Preconstruction Activities – Reporting to Furniture Lead / Tender Lead

· Site Delivery – Reporting to Contracts Manager and associated site-based delivery team

 

About the role…

Integrated within the furniture team, this person would be responsible for the coordination of the below duties across the Central Region.

• Awareness of all furniture opportunities in our pipeline.

• Liaising with Overbury Central (OVCe) Project Manager(s), Site Manager(s) and Site Supervisor(s) on the planning for and programming / sequencing of furniture installation works for each project at tender stage.

• Where required, carry out and support the furniture team with early furniture audits to enable the reuse and relocation of existing furniture within our tender bids.

• Where we are successful in winning work, implementing the planning for and programming and sequencing  of the actual furniture installations, both new and reuse schemes,  with OVCe project team by taking into account site restrictions and conditions  to ensure we adopt the best project approach for the furniture installation so that we are 100% compliant with the site needs, that we deliver on our Site Standards, minimise and mitigate all risks, whilst ensuring that we avoid damage and snags to both product and building fabric.

• Liaising with installation partners to ensure they act upon our needs as part of the installation process.

• Liaising with our furniture product partners to ensure that delivery sequences, dates and needs are continually met.

• Where we store furniture externally in warehouses, liaising with our storage partners to ensure that both our delivery to and redelivery from needs are met to promote our commitments to our clients and the circular economy of furniture.

• Liaising with all our suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that we deliver on our circular economy commitments regarding the elimination, reduction, and later removal of waste from our site with the aim of diverting 100% from landfill on each project.

• Being present onsite to manage deliveries, from all perspectives including methodology, sequencing, and programming, to meet our needs.

• Working with our OVCe delivery teams to take complete ownership and oversee all works carried out by our installation partners, including taking responsibility for operatives meeting our health, safety, and wellbeing standards as well as the prompt reporting of any quality issues to the furniture team or directly to manufacturers.

• Being the initial single onsite point of contact for Clients, whilst understanding the hierarchy of our management on site, to support and maintain a furniture led relationship throughout the project, alongside our internal Furniture Account Manager (FAM).

• Being part of our Project Review process to assist in the continual improvement of our internal and external furniture offering, including sharing best practice and Lessons Learnt

Pre-Tender:

• Early engagement to understand the furniture pipeline.

Tender:

· Undertake onsite furniture audits for clients considering reuse and compiling reports with recommendations for same.

Pre-Construction:

• Complete understanding of the needs for the project including what furniture templates the OVCe site teams need.

• Understanding of how power and data are fed to and within furniture, together with complete knowledge of who is taking responsibility for all connectivity, from both power and data perspectives.

• Understanding of access and egress points from site and any limitations to the workspace.

• Agreement with OVCe site team delivery and installation sequencing and all key programme dates and durations, either for new furniture or reused furniture.

• Reviewing, prior to issuing for further comment / approval to OVCe site teams, Risk Assessments and Method Statement (RAMS) compiled by all furniture trade subcontractors.

• Arranging, attending and minuting for distribution all pre-installation meetings on site with the relevant parties.

• Plan and arrange any Move Management (MM).

• Carrying out all pre - project planning with the OVCe site teams for all activities relating to furniture including delivery and installation (D&I)

Delivery and Installation:

• Liaise with our OVCe site teams to check programme and site condition are such that they are ready to receive furniture.

• Being site based, take complete ownership of all site based furniture activities in liaison with the OVCe delivery team.

• Being the single point of contact for all things furniture, to our client, our suppliers and installation partners.

• Taking full responsibility for the health, safety, and wellbeing of all those carrying out or interfacing with our furniture works.

• Continually liaising with our OVCe site team and our furniture delivery partners.

• Assist in and supervise any MM for our clients within our projects.

• As well as projects that we are fitting out, oversee our Furniture Only projects onsite where we have no site-based management team, without compromising our approach.

• Supervise all connectivity and ensure that everything works from a furniture perspective.

• Deliver a defect free, complete furniture package of works on the agreed date to a delighted Client.

Post Completion:

·Remain the single point of contact for our clients.

·Arrange, manage, and attend any defects that we are made aware of and consider to be our responsibility. Where not our responsibility., liaise with our FAM to agree the way forward.

·Should Day 2 furniture works be required, take the required level of ownership to successfully deliver them as per the main project.

·Be part of our internal processes to promote continual improvement through the sharing of best practice and Lessons Learnt.
