We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Sub Agent to join our team on the A52 Nottingham Cycleway Framework, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
This is an opportunity for a short-term role ending April 2026.
Role Responsibilities
- Take a hands-on approach to the commercial and planning aspects of the project.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the construction site to ensure successful project delivery aligned with customer objectives.
- Uphold high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply industry experience in civil engineering, with a preference for sector expertise.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent).
- Relevant CSCS card.
- SMSTS 5 days.
- Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering.
- Civil engineering and construction experience.
- Able to produce and explain accurate plans and drawings.
- Good IT skills and able to work confidently with MS Office and other system applications.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations.

About the Water|Highways Business Unit
Our Water team designs, builds, and maintains vital UK water infrastructure, ensuring secure water supply and wastewater services.
We work with major water companies to create resilient facilities, reduce flood risks, and improve environmental outcomes. Currently, we participate in the Welsh Water AMP7 and AMP8 frameworks and have secured projects with Wessex Water for the next five years. These long-term framework agreements are part of a national £88 billion investment, requiring a collaborative and agile approach to meet the industry's challenges.
Our Highways team delivers comprehensive services, from major national projects to local schemes, improving road journeys for millions daily.
With expertise in tunnelling, bridges, and more, we provide end-to-end project support, including design, integration, and construction. Current projects include concrete road replacements for National Highways, smart motorway safety enhancements, and widening the A423 for Oxford City Council.
