We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Site Engineer to join our team on the A52 Nottingham Cycleway Framework, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental site visits to monitor compliance and identify issues.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and on-site environmental training to staff and subcontractors.
  • Gather environmental information from specialists (e.g., ecology reports) and communicate key findings to project teams.
  • Apply for environmental consents and ensure project teams understand and comply with consent conditions.
  • Conduct environmental audits to assess performance and drive improvements.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of environmental site practices and compliance requirements
  • Confident in delivering toolbox talks and training in a site environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical environmental reports and communicate findings clearly.
  • Experience in applying for and managing environmental consents.
  • Proficient in conducting environmental audits and reporting outcomes.

About the Water|Highways Business Unit

Our Water team designs, builds, and maintains vital UK water infrastructure, ensuring secure water supply and wastewater services.

We work with major water companies to create resilient facilities, reduce flood risks, and improve environmental outcomes. Currently, we participate in the Welsh Water AMP7 and AMP8 frameworks and have secured projects with Wessex Water for the next five years. These long-term framework agreements are part of a national £88 billion investment, requiring a collaborative and agile approach to meet the industry's challenges.

Our Highways team delivers comprehensive services, from major national projects to local schemes, improving road journeys for millions daily.

With expertise in tunnelling, bridges, and more, we provide end-to-end project support, including design, integration, and construction. Current projects include concrete road replacements for National Highways, smart motorway safety enhancements, and widening the A423 for Oxford City Council.
