Talented people are the key to our success

The Role

We are seeking a passionate, proactive and experienced Social Value Manager to lead the development and delivery of social value strategies across our Energy projects in East Anglia and the wider South East region.

This role will involve regular travel to project sites and engagement with local communities and stakeholders across the region, so flexibility, enthusiasm and a proactive approach are essential.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping how our projects deliver meaningful, measurable benefits to the communities where we work, ensuring social value commitments are embedded throughout project delivery.

As Social Value continues to grow in importance within procurement and commercial performance, this role provides the opportunity to influence strategy, drive innovation and strengthen stakeholder partnerships across a major national infrastructure programme.

Why join now?

You will be joining at a pivotal time as the UK accelerates the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects supporting the transition to a net zero power network.

Our teams are delivering critical upgrades to the UK electricity network, and social value is playing an increasingly central role in how projects are procured and delivered.

This role offers the opportunity to shape social value delivery across a nationally significant programme, working closely with communities, education partners and supply chains.

What you’ll be doing

  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship management across client, delivery partners, local authorities, community organisations, education providers and supply chain partners
  • Develop and implement co-created social value strategies aligned with project needs and community priorities
  • Deliver key social value initiatives and programmes across project sites
  • Ensure commitments made through procurement and supply chain partners are delivered and evidenced
  • Monitor, measure and report on social value outcomes and impact metrics
  • Work closely with project delivery teams to embed social value into day-to-day project operations
  • Support the continued development of our social value approach across the GGP framework

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering social value (desirable within infrastructure, construction, utilities, energy or related sectors)
  • Strong understanding of social, economic and environmental impact measurement and reporting, using accredited tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with the ability to take ownership and drive initiatives forward
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and community partners across East Anglia and the South East

Desirable:

  • Experience leading programmes, managing teams or coordinating cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience working on public sector frameworks, utilities programmes or major infrastructure projects

Why This Role Matters

Social Value is critical to the success of our projects and forms an integral part of our offer to clients and communities.

We are investing in this role to:

  • Respond to the growing importance of social value in infrastructure procurement
  • Drive innovation and efficiency through community-focused outcomes
  • Strengthen how we deliver long-term benefits to the communities where we operate
  • Ensure our projects deliver lasting social, economic and environmental impact
