Senior Project Engineer Electrical
Location: Glasgow/ Helensburgh
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Engineering Function (MEICA) and play a key role in delivering large-scale, multidisciplinary construction projects. You’ll be mobilised as part of a project delivery team, managing a defined discipline or scope of work on behalf of the operations/project lead. From design through to handover, you’ll ensure compliance with legislative and project requirements, uphold Morgan Sindall standards, and achieve Perfect Delivery—all while supporting our People Promise.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate technical scope elements, ensuring alignment with functional SMEs and supply chain partners.
- Review designs, provide technical challenge, and support to achieve performance targets while maintaining cost and schedule.
- Develop and implement safe, efficient installation methodologies and ensure installations meet functionality criteria for commissioning.
- Manage work packages, including scope definition, procurement, subcontract award, and administration.
- Report monthly on performance for your assigned scope.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in a MEICA engineering discipline or related technical field.
- Engineering Skill Level 4 – Detailed Understanding of your primary discipline, with broader appreciation of multi-disciplined teams.
- Practical experience at Engineering Experience Level 3 (maintain/manage applications of current technology; design, development, construction, operation).
- Strong behavioural profile aligned to project needs (Role Complexity Assessment score ≥144).
- Proven experience delivering engineering scope within multi-functional construction projects.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel) and ability to produce technical and administrative documentation.
- Experience applying management systems and processes.
Desirable
- Membership of a professional body (IET, IMechE), ideally working toward EngTech or IEng status.
- Experience in design processes, contract management, and construction engineering.
- Nuclear sector experience on large-scale projects.
- Accredited training in PUWER, Nuclear Installations Act, CDM Regulations, and Health & Safety at Work Act.
