We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Site Agent to join our team on the SSEN Framework, supporting delivery of the £120m Loch na Cathrach Energy Connection. Collaborating closely with the onshore team near Inverness, you will play a key role in delivering a range of complex, high‑profile energy infrastructure schemes.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the safe and efficient delivery of construction works, ensuring compliance with programme, budget, quality standards, CDM and HSEQ requirements.
- Manage daily site operations, including coordination and supervision of subcontractors and direct labour.
- Coordinate works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, technical standards and construction programmes.
- Oversee construction quality, including inspections, ITPs, testing and defect close‑out.
- Identify and manage site risks, interfaces and environmental considerations throughout delivery.
- Manage site logistics, welfare, access and temporary works.
- Monitor resources and support efficient cost‑control across the project.
- Provide accurate progress updates and work collaboratively with engineering, planning and commercial teams.
- Lead site meetings, toolbox talks and client inspections, fostering strong communication and teamwork.
- Apply effective project management, planning and problem‑solving capabilities to ensure smooth project delivery.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Experience delivering construction activities on large infrastructure or substation projects.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements and industry technical standards.
- Good commercial awareness and ability to support cost‑management activities.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to manage risks, constraints and environmental impacts.
- Experience ensuring high construction quality through inspections, testing and close‑out processes.
- Ability to interpret construction documentation accurately to support effective delivery.
- Experience working under NEC or similar contract forms.

About the Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
