We are looking for an experienced and motivated Technical Manager (MEP) to join our team on the £28m Gatwick Airport Limited Pier 3 Project, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their skills and take on increased responsibility.

You will play a key role in supervising and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) activities on the Pier 3 Structural Rehabilitation project, ensuring installations are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, while supporting the effective progress of the project.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain a full understanding of the scope of works for all mechanical and electrical subcontractor packages.
  • Manage on‑site mechanical and electrical subcontractor activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery.
  • Coordinate all M&E works with the wider site management team to support smooth project progress.
  • Consult with the Senior Project Manager, Engineering Manager and Quantity Surveyor on any works outside the agreed scope.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety requirements, CDM regulations and airside working procedures.
  • Review subcontractor method statements and risk assessments, monitoring compliance throughout the project.
  • Issue, monitor and close out permits for M&E and associated works.
  • Inspect installations to verify compliance with contract specifications and design requirements.
  • Raise NCRs for non‑compliant works and support corrective actions.
  • Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs) are produced, reviewed, implemented, and closed out.
  • Compile snagging lists and manage the close‑out process to a high standard.
  • Confirm that as‑installed works align with the design intent and meet end‑user requirements.
  • Understand the building contract and effectively manage key stakeholder interfaces, including client representatives, airfield operations, and design teams.

 

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a live airfield environment (essential).
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • Electrical and/or Mechanical trade qualification.
