We are looking for a highly organised and initiative-taking Plant Coordinator to join our Energy team, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to play a key role in supporting the coordination of plant and equipment across project sites, ensuring assets remain compliant, available, and fit for purpose.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage the ordering and acceptance of plant and equipment for overhead line projects.
  • Oversee the allocation, tracking and hiring/off‑hiring of equipment.
  • Ensure plant and equipment remain compliant, available, and fit for purpose.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the Stores department to support effective control and distribution of equipment and materials.
  • Lead and support a team of Stores Coordinators
  • Demonstrate strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Effectively prioritise workload in a fast‑paced project environment.
  • Coordinate the ordering of plant, materials, and associated supplies.
  • Obtain and review supplier quotations to support procurement decisions.
  • Work closely with project management teams to operate within allocated plant and materials budgets.
  • Oversee the management of site compounds, including leading Stores Coordinators and ensuring all material‑handling processes and procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate plant and materials across project sites to ensure efficient utilisation.
  • Place timely and accurate orders in line with project needs.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with the supply chain.
  • Ensure effective control and oversight of all site compounds.

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Secondary level education to GCSE or equivalent, with A‑Level standard preferred.
  • Telehandler licence (preferred)
  • Knowledge of overhead lines plant and equipment (preferred)
  • Understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations (preferred)
  • Strong team-working skills
  • Willingness to work away from home.

About the Energy Business Unit

We have experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
