We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Foreman to join our team on the National Grid Project Framework, supporting the delivery of the PTNO Pentir to Trawsfynydd project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
In this role, you will oversee daytoday site operations on the PTNO/PTC1 scheme, supporting substation and enabling works during the ECI and mobilisation phase. You will supervise early works such as vegetation clearance, surveys, and site establishment to ensure the site is fully prepared for first access, while ensuring all activities are delivered in line with National Grid standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
Role Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day site activities, ensuring all works are delivered safely and in accordance with RAMS, permits, and National Grid procedures.
- Coordinate subcontractors, manage work fronts, and monitor productivity to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of early works.
- Undertake regular inspections and reporting to maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards.
- Support the implementation of key project plans, including traffic management, health & safety, and site establishment requirements in line with National Grid policies.
- Ensure site readiness ahead of major construction phases by overseeing enabling works, vegetation clearance, surveys, and initial site setup activities.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience supervising civil engineering works within substations, utilities, or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of National Grid procedures, including NG Safety Rules awareness.
- Solid understanding of CDM Regulations and quality assurance processes.
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification (mandatory).
- Preferably holds National Grid Person/Competent Person authorisations.
- Substation Entry certification (preferred).
