Senior Project Engineer 

Preston / Manchester 

Overview 

As a Senior Project  Engineer (MEICA) within Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, you will be part of the Engineering Function and mobilised into a project delivery team on major, multi‑disciplined infrastructure projects. You will take responsibility for managing a defined engineering discipline or scope of work, supporting the Operations or Project Lead to deliver safe, compliant and high‑quality outcomes throughout the full project lifecycle.

You will play a key role in achieving Perfect Delivery, ensuring all work meets legislative, contractual and Morgan Sindall standards, while promoting and living our Protecting people  through collaborative leadership and professional integrity.


Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • A Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) on the Regulated Qualifications Framework in a MEICA engineering discipline or a closely related technical field.
  • A high level of subject matter expertise within your primary engineering discipline and/or functional area.
  • Proven experience managing discipline-specific scope on complex, multi‑disciplined construction projects.
  • Demonstrable involvement in the design of large-scale, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Experience contributing to or leading the planning, programming and reporting of major construction projects.
  • Practical experience across procurement, construction and commissioning phases of large and complex schemes.
  • A strong understanding of, and ability to apply, the required competencies, standards and best practice for your primary discipline and/or function.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within integrated project teams, maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Professional registration (or active working towards) with a relevant institution such as IET, IMechE, CIBSE or similar.
  • Achievement of, or progress towards, Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • Specific training and/or additional qualifications that provide wider multi‑disciplinary or functional understanding, enabling effective management of integrated engineering teams.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment (e.g. water, energy, utilities or similar sectors).
  • Evidence of promoting positive team culture in line with Morgan Sindall’s People Promise, including mentoring, knowledge sharing and collaborative working.
