We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team on the National Grid Great Grid Partnership (GGP) framework, supporting the delivery of the high‑profile Norwich to Tilbury (ATNC) project. This nationally significant energy infrastructure programme plays a critical role in strengthening and future‑proofing the UK’s electricity network.

Role Responsibilities
- Ability to provide effective commercial support to the delivery of contracted works within a geographically focused project team.
- Experience supporting the production of accurate, timely commercial reports and assisting the wider commercial team in achieving agreed project and contract targets.
- Understanding of contract and subcontract commercial principles, with the ability to support performance against financial and operational objectives.
- Willingness and capability to support project tendering activities when required, including assisting with cost planning, estimating, and commercial modelling.
- Ability to develop an understanding of scopes of work, identifying key risks and opportunities to support informed commercial decision‑making.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, enabling accurate reporting and support across multiple commercial activities.
- An initiative-taking and collaborative approach, working effectively with commercial, operational, and project teams.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working within the construction industry is desirable.
- Educated to BSc level in Quantity Surveying or another relevant commercial discipline or actively progressing towards this qualification.
- Commitment to working towards professional membership of a recognised body, such as RICS (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable interest in developing a career in commercial management within construction or infrastructure.
- Strong willingness to learn, develop technical and commercial skills, and progress within a supportive project environment.

About the Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
