Site Agent (Electrical Bias)

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Site Agent to join our team, working for National Grid on the PC Route project under the Great Grid Partnership (GGP) framework. This role supports the delivery of a range of high‑profile and technically challenging schemes within the UK’s critical energy infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational support for CE&I and Civil works, operating within company procedures and industry standards.
- Assist Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and delivery of site‑based electrical works, along with a working knowledge of Civils installations.
- Take day‑to‑day responsibility for site operations, including site set‑up, preparation, and installation activities.
- Plan, schedule, and organise site works efficiently to meet agreed programmes and deadlines.
- Ensure quality control requirements are met and accurately recorded in line with project specifications.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
- Attend and contribute to regular project meetings, providing timely updates on progress and site activities.
- Supervise and monitor the site labour force, including foremen, supervisors, and subcontractors, to ensure works are completed safely and to customer expectations.
- Oversee quality and safety performance on site, ensuring full compliance with statutory and company regulations.
- Identify and resolve technical issues or unexpected problems promptly to minimise disruption to works.
- Review design information and drawings, reporting variations, or changes to the Project Manager
- Oversee the selection and requisition of materials, ensuring materials are compliant with specifications and project requirements.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Electrical‑biased qualification to Level 3 or above
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in both hands‑on delivery and organisation of CE&I works.
- Strong understanding of construction and maintenance site operations, including OHL preparation works.
- Experience working in a technical or support role, receiving guidance from senior management.
- Sound knowledge of quality assurance, health & safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to plan and manage workloads to deliver against programme targets.
- Proven experience supervising site teams and subcontractors
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and communicate changes effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage issues as they arise on site.
- Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.

About the Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
