Location: Sellafield Site, West Cumbria
The Opportunity
Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is seeking a Site Agent to join the team delivering works on the IDP Framework at the Sellafield site in West Cumbria.
The Site Agent will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within budget, while meeting the customer’s objectives and maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, quality, environmental compliance and cost control.
This role operates within a highly regulated environment and offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Site & Project Management
- Manage the construction site to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme and budget
- Ensure accurate implementation of engineering controls and compliance with contract drawings and specifications
- Develop, maintain and review detailed working programmes, coordinating all related trades and activities
- Monitor performance against forecast and implement recovery actions where required
- Coordinate day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring consistency of approach across shifts
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
- Produce and implement risk assessments and method statements for the safe execution of works
- Ensure all works comply with legal health, safety and environmental requirements
- Ensure all staff and operatives are familiar with and adhere to safety procedures
- Deliver performance in key HSEQ areas and promote a strong safety‑first culture
- Implement applicable Quality Plan requirements and liaise with the Project Quality Manager on quality matters
Leadership & Coordination
- Liaise daily with the Senior Foreman regarding programme, resources, productivity and site issues
- Set working parameters, ensure their application on site and assess performance
- Lead actions to resolve technical issues and improve progress, quality and productivity
- Coordinate site teams and ensure effective communication across trades and disciplines
- Ensure all personnel are appropriately trained and competent for their roles
Commercial, Risk & Continuous Improvement
- Take a hands‑on approach to the commercial and planning aspects of the project
- Manage project risk in line with company procedures
- Proactively promote continuous improvement initiatives, including customer and supplier feedback and knowledge sharing
- Deliver the end product to the customer’s satisfaction, aligned with Morgan Sindall’s Perfect Delivery ethos
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with third parties, subcontractors and other members of the project team on a day‑to‑day basis
- Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery
Qualifications, Training & Technical Knowledge
- Relevant industry qualification (HNC / HND / BEng or equivalent)
- Relevant CSCS card
- CSCS 5‑Day Safety Qualification
- Good knowledge of civil engineering specifications and testing regimes
- Proven civil engineering and construction experience
- Ability to produce, interpret and clearly explain accurate plans and drawings
