We are seeking a Subcontract Senior Supervisor to support and oversee our subcontract finance activities, ensuring accurate processing, strong controls and consistent delivery across the business.
This role sits within our finance operations team and will take responsibility for supervising day-to-day activities, maintaining compliance (including CIS), and supporting continuous improvement across subcontract processes.
About the Role
You will play a key role in managing subcontract payments, accounts and controls, working closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure accuracy, efficiency and a high standard of service.
You will also support the development of team capability, helping to drive consistency, performance and process improvement.
Role Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day activities across the subcontract team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
- Oversee subcontract payments and related transactions, ensuring compliance with delegated authority limits
- Ensure compliance with CIS requirements, including verification of tax status and submission of returns
- Support management of subcontractor accounts and ledgers, including reconciliation to the general ledger
- Maintain strong financial controls and governance across all processes
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and subcontractors, resolving queries effectively
- Support the preparation and execution of payment runs in line with company procedures
- Monitor data accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Support audits by providing information and resolving queries
- Drive improvements in processes, controls and systems to increase efficiency and reduce risk
- Deliver a high and consistent level of customer service across all interactions
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role is essential for this position
- Good understanding of finance processes and controls, ideally within a construction environment
- Knowledge of CIS and subcontract processes (desirable)
- Experience supervising or supporting team members
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
- Proactive approach, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
