We are looking for a motivated and ambitious SHE Advisor to join our team on the National Grid ETP Framework, supporting a growing portfolio of major infrastructure schemes across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in high-profile projects while developing your expertise and taking on increasing responsibility.

As a site-based advisor, you will be embedded within operational teams, helping to drive a strong safety, health, environment, and quality culture and ensuring excellence across all project activities.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant SHE legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Provide leadership, advice, and support to project teams on all SHE matters.
  • Embed and champion Morgan Sindall’s Protecting People Commitment across projects.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and drive best practice across operations.
  • Support and guide management teams, employees, and supply chain partners.
  • Provide coordination and leadership within the SHEQ function.
  • Accurately report on SHEQ performance and key metrics
  • Lead or support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and lessons learned.
  • Function as a key point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners on SHE matters.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the SHEQ team.
  • Promote a positive culture of safety, wellbeing, and sustainability across all activities.

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum requirement)
  • IOSH membership and/or other relevant vocational qualifications desirable
  • Valid UK driving licence (site-based role with travel)
  • Experience working within a highly regulated sector (e.g. energy transmission)
  • Experience on infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of SHE legislation and best practice
  • Proven ability to support or lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to challenge where necessary.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging clients, supply chain, and project teams
  • Passion for driving continuous improvement, best practice, and shared learning across teams.

About the Energy Business Unit

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
